Screening of Volunteers Committee
In keeping with the policy of the Diocese of Calgary, Canadian Martyrs Parish screens all volunteers. Screening is a process designed to create and maintain a safe environment for children and other vulnerable persons. It also fosters an appropriate match between the volunteer and a particular ministry. The process involves assessing risk, writing position descriptions, and discerning the suitability of a volunteer for a given ministry or position. The process also involves ongoing supervision and support of the volunteer. The screening committee is responsible for the screening of volunteers using the tools and support provided by the Diocese.
